We have a number of internal innitiatives to enhance Culture, a Buddy system for new hires, a book club, a buzzing social scene, multiple sports teams but most of all we have more than 20 different nationalities working here, and we celebrate each of the employee's from another country's National Day by inviting all company members to celebrate the national day with the employee giving a short presentation on the country's history and then everyone samples food from the country in question. This helps integrate employees and promotes diversity and cultural positivity. |

At my facility all employees are required to wear a uniform as part of our dress code(navy pants, blue/white shirt and steel toe shoes). This means everyone from the mill manager to the material handler is required to wear a uniform; this enables everyone to feel equal and not vulnerable. The company purchases all or part of the required uniforms for our employees. I personally like this because I never have to worry about what I am going to wear to work! |

What key employee culture techniques have worked best for you/your organization (e.g. employee parties, outside employee gatherings, dress codes, office space/facilities, executive communications etc.)?
